You’ve heard about the virtues of our new quartz surfacing product, ColorQuartz, including the fact that it’s virtually maintenance free. But, you may be wondering what care the surfacing does need and just how minimal the maintenance is. We’ll explain…
Since ColorQuartz surfaces are non-porous, they are highly resistant to stains, as well as penetration of spills into the deeper layers of the surface. That’s the biggest reason that ColorQuartz is so easy to clean and maintain.

For day-to-day clean up, water and dish soap will work just fine. You can use a paper towel or a damp sponge to absorb any spills that might happen. And, if necessary, you can use any non-abrasive cleaner (such as Soft Scrub Gel with Bleach, Formula 409, Lysol, and Windex) to wipe away any sticky spots. Dry the area with a clean cloth, and that’s it.
If you encounter a stubborn stain, try leaving any of these cleaners sit on the affected area for a few minutes. Sop up the remaining liquid with a paper towel, letting it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. Next, rub the area gently in a circular motion with a Scotch-Brite pad. Rinse it with clean water and dry thoroughly.

What if you get into a super sticky situation and find your countertop covered with gum, nail polish, or paint? First of all, don’t panic. Scrape the surface with a plastic putty knife or even a razor. (Don’t worry. ColorQuartz surfaces are very hard. The razor won’t harm it.) Next, rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Any marks left behind can be removed with Soft Scrub Liquid Gel. And after that, if necessary, use Windex to clean any gel residue.
A few additional cautionary tips:
• Never apply sealer. ColorQuartz never needs to be sealed.
• Don’t use abrasive scrubs and always use a non-scratch scrubbing pad such as Scotch-Brite.
• Avoid harsh chemicals like abrasive oven and plumbing cleaners. They can dull the finish.
