More precious than carrara, gold calacatta marble has distinct veining with warm tones that make it elegant and inviting. "If there were a white granite with veining as interesting as Calacatta marble, that would have made my life easier . . . I have it repaired, repolished, and resealed regularly. But you know, I don't mind the etchings. They tell a story. And they remind me that nothing in life is perfect." 

Segalman used walnut cabinetry to "ground" the gold calacatta countertops throughout the contemporary-traditional chef kitchen. The paint chosen for the walls was a cool light blue with hints of gray that provide a nice, subtle contrast to the warm-tones of the gold calacutta as well as the deep, rich tones of the walnut cabinetry. 

Gold calacatta marble can be paired with warmer paint colors or warmer wooden cabinetry to bring more attention to the gold and brown tones in the marble veining like in this vintage-inspired powder room or in this sleek, modern kitchen. 

A bolder color palette such as in this traditional kitchen with crisp white cabinetry and honey-yellow walls can also work wonderfully with gold calacatta countertops. 

Of course, you can never go wrong with an all-white palette. Gold calacatta countertops and backsplashes ill always look luxurious with white cabinetry and black or dark wood accents.
