We’re Ready to Remodel! Now…Where Do We Start?

January 22, 2015

Q: We’re ready to get started on our very first home renovation! Many Internet sites and blogs such as yours have helped us generate and narrow down our ideas. We’ve learned about the differences between marble, granite, quartz, quartzite and more than we could have ever dreamed existed. But now…we’re not sure where to start. Can we work directly with you or do we need to find a fabricator, contractor, or someone else?

A: If this is your first remodeling project, we’re not surprised that you’re confused about where to begin. There’s no real way to know the ins and outs of home renovation unless you’ve been through it. So, welcome to your new adventure! We’re happy to help get you started.

Marble and Granite Inc. Wetswood, MA

At Marble and Granite, Inc., we’ll help you connect with a professional stone fabricator who will turn your ideas into reality.

To answer your question, here’s a little about the difference between a distributor or wholesaler (who we are) and the fabricator (who will actually install your new surfaces.)

As a wholesaler, we’re the suppliers of the natural stone material. Our stone experts search the world over for top-quality materials, hand-selecting the very best products for our market. We’re the largest natural stone wholesaler in New England, so we have a pretty good idea of what our customers are looking for. We do our best to stay on the forefront of design so that we can bring you the kinds of products you’re looking for.

Fabricators, on the other hand, are the hands-on stoneworkers who execute the process from templating to the final details of installation. They’ll measure the space, figure out exactly how much material is needed, and lay out the stone to help you choose the best veins, shading, and other features of the product. They will create the edge detail you choose and basically ensure that your final project looks just as you dreamed it would.

As a wholesaler, we sell our products directly to designers, architects, and fabricators. But yes…we will work with you. You are welcome to visit our showrooms. We’ll help in any way we can and guide you towards the products that are right for your idea. We can also help you find a fabricator since we offer a network of over 500 professionals who we trust to work with the materials we sell. We recommend only those who focus on quality and deliver the best final results possible. In addition to our fabricator network, we also work with 1200 kitchen dealers and 1000 architects and designers, who we trust, and who put their faith in the quality of our materials.

We’re happy to answer any additional questions that you might have about how to get started. Visit either one of our indoor showrooms or give us a call at 877-39-STONE. Best of luck as you begin this fun adventure. Remember to keep the emphasis on fun. Think of it as an opportunity to learn something new and meet some terrific new people!
