The Unique Beauty of Granite

Some say that granite has seen its heyday in the kitchen. It’s true there are more surfacing choices in the market than ever before, however all things considered, the fact remains that granite is still the top seller. Why?

Well, for one, granite is now more readily available and budget-friendly than it’s been in the past. That may play into why homeowners are going in other directions—they want something that nobody else has. But the reality is that its uniqueness is what makes granite so appealing. Every slab is one-of-a-kind and no two granite projects ever look the same.

On top of each slab being completely original, granite is hard, durable, scratch-resistant, impervious to stains, heat, and liquids when sealed, and relatively easy to clean and maintain. Granite comes from all around the world and in a multitude of natural color combinations. It can be finished in a variety of ways, including polished, brushed, honed, flamed, and sandblasted. It’s not only fantastic for countertops but also fireplace surrounds, bars, desktops, windowsills, and just about any surface you can think of.

While granite can be found in subtle, neutral shades, it can also be found in breathtakingly dramatic combinations with beautiful, swirling veins and unusual patterns. Here are just a few examples of some of the most dramatic granite slabs you’ll see at our two New England showroom locations:
