No, not that CIA; rather, The Culinary Institute of America! The Size, manufacturer of the ultra-slim powerhouse of a material, Neolith, has partnered with the institute’s Copia facility, located in the heart of California’s Napa Valley. In conjunction with San Francisco stone distributor FM Distributing, they’ve provided Pietra di Luna slabs to serve as countertops in The Restaurant at CIA Copia.

Neolith offers a seamless transition from kitchen to table for both professional and at-home chefs.

A top destination in the wine region, Copia officially opened in the fall of 2016 and gives guests the chance to explore, experience, and enjoy the world of food and wine. The restaurant offers a unique opportunity for guests to have a first taste of renowned chefs as they share their creations from the kitchen to the table.

“When we were designing The Restaurant at CIA Copia, we were looking for surfaces that were durable, clean, and simple, like a chef’s apron,” said Thomas Bensel, managing director, California Campus, CIA Copia. “The Neolith countertop provided just that, and it is now the centerpiece of the Chef’s Counter and private dining spaces.”

Neolith countertops stand up to the constant use of a busy restaurant space at The Restaurant at CIA Copia.

For the finest culinary experience, Neolith ensures a seamless transition from the kitchen to the table with a surface that not only makes a statement, but is also hygienic, easy-to-clean, and can stand up to the constant use of a busy restaurant space.

“With Neolith, chefs and diners can spill everything from hot sauces to acidic wine, drag pots and plates, and even chop directly on the surface without the worry of damaging the countertop,” says Mar Esteve, marketing director, TheSize Surfaces. Esteve adds that this partnership with a renowned establishment like The Culinary Institute of America represents one of the company’s latest initiatives in providing inspiration for elegant, yet indestructible kitchen surfaces to professionals and at-home chefs all over the world.
